Reactive Power Compensation in a Three-Phase System

This tutorial will describe the concept of reactive power compensation in a three-phase distribution system. Reactive power demanded by loads in a distribution system can place an excessive burden on distribution feeders with increased losses and decreased load capacity. The simulation files provided with this case is divided into three parts. The first part decomposes the load current into active and reactive components. The second part contains a reactive power compensator with a three-phase inductor filter. The third part contains a reactive power compensator with a three-phase inductor-capacitor-inductor filter.
